Do you like this painting? The painting's title is "Das Innere einer italienischen Kirche" (The interior of an Italian church), it was painted in 1830 by the Austrian Johann Nepomuk Schödlberger.
It's somewhat interesting. Why you are asking about this one in particular?
>>27739 Because it was used as the background to an album I was listening to on YouTube and it caught my eye. I like some things about it, but I also dislike some things, so I was interested in how Bernds would rate it.
>>27738 The painting is of high quality but it depicts abhorent things. I do not like it.
>>27740 > like some things about it lighting seems nice >dislike some things faces seem very strange: that kind of square-based shape and that straight line forehead-nose
>>27747 Looks like he was going for the traditionally Roman type
>>27745 I have very negative theological opinion on abrahamic religeons.
>>27750 Are you not an orthodox christian?
>>27738 I like the lighting and the details (altar cloth, ornaments of the picture frames). But this guy could only draw one face and reuse it everywhere.
>>27757 Would you stop in front of it, if you were at the museum where it's exhibited?
>>27752 Obviously not. Funny thing, the disgusting scum at local orthodogs church have my name on the books because my grandma was in their cult, and since orthodogs have no excommunication there is no way for me to remove my name from there, besides making sure as many orthodox scum are dead and hopefully biringing the demise to said church. Not tht it is on top of my to do things. Also keep such practices in mind every time some moron utters the words "orthodox church has this many members/followers".
>>27742 IMO it's the other way around. Lovely scene for sure, but technically not very impressive considering the many fantastic painters of that period.
>>27760 >and since orthodogs have no excommunication This is theologically sound.
I looked up some of his landscapes (because I didn't know him), I like them more.
It's comfy >>27760 Do you believe in nonabrehamic God? Are you a commie?
We also obviously need Italian Bernd's opinion on the matter. Waiting for him until I call it quits.
>>27760 haven't Poroshenko got you a separate church? or do Russians still dominate religion in Ukraine?
>>27749 >>27749 > traditionally Roman type I only can recall the Maneskin lead singer with such a face and even he has some curve at the eye sockets seriously, do many such people exist irl in Italy?
>>27781 Ever been to a church that looked like that?
>>27800 With the perfectly straight nose-brow line? Not really tbh.
>>27811 Can't recall ever being in a church with ground level windows tbh, I wonder why. Maybe that's a chapel?
Last cool church I've been to btw. I'd post my own pictures but they are on a now dead phone. Sad!
>>27820 Btw, are there Protestant churches in Italy and if so, how rare are they?
>>27822 I've never heard of one. I would assume there must be some around Rome, Milan and other bigger cities.
>>27825 Thanks. This is the last church I visited, sadly it has been used by Protestants for a couple hundred years. But it's actually part of an old Cistercian monastery (as you can see from the choir stalls).
>>27827 I just checked and apparently there's a bunch of protestant churches in my area, even a latter day saints :DD what the fug
>>27827 Also cool church btw
>>27833 I like that you Italians have healthy love and respect for the Virgin Mary in your churches, my local church also has a statue of her.
>>27832 LDS? Nice, praise God for the prophet and restorer Joseph Smith
>>27834 I like it too somehow.
The head of the child is too small.
>>27852 Have you considered veganism instead?
>>27768 Not into visual arts, but I like this one. Wouldn't mind staring at it for some time. "It has been said that the quality of his work decreased as his earnings increased." :D
